Charlie Chaplin's "The Modern Times " - Movie Review

                    On 28th June,2018 in our Department of English we had a movie screening of Charlie Chaplin's movies "The Modern Times "Charlie Chaplins was allrounder .In this movie he himself was a Director,Producer and Music composer.

                   This movie gives us information about the period of Modern Age. Factories and Machines' development and its advantages and disadvantages these all we had seen in this movie.

                  The Workers were worked in Assembly line .Workers worked on the speed of Machines .When factory owner increases speed of machine workres all increas their speed of works.Here we seen the Master-Slave system.Factory head puts CCTV camera in whole factory.Even in washroom workers had no space.

Enamployment:- 

                    We know that the Modern Age was known as Development of Factories and Machines.But every coin has two sides .Same way The development of Factories and Machines also had advantages and disadvantages .Many workers were loss their jobs because in place of workers machines done work.And that's why enamployers were increases.

Red Flag :-  

                   Red flag was sybolised as a raise voice against power which is responcible for the unemployment. In this movie Chaplin by mistake took red flag and police arrested him and took him in Jail.

Position of poor :-

                   In this Movie Gamin played a poor girl's role.She lived with her father and two younger sister.Her father was in search of job.But he did not get any job.That's why Gamin whenever seen food she stall that food.One day she accidentally  met Chaplin.

                Our basic requirements are "Roti, Kapda or Makan"It means Food ,Cloth and Shelter.When these needs fulfills we think about more  luxury. In this movie protagonist also in search of  Job for their basic needs .

 The Food Feeding Machine:-
       
                      In this Movie factory head done experiment of Food feeding machine.With the help of the machine he less the break time of workers.The machine survive food to all workers during their working time and this way break time saved and that time work was continued.

Surreality in movie:-

                   Many incidents were beyond reality in this movie.First Charlie want by mistake  in huge matchniry.Second when he find another job that time his boss go inside the machine.These incidents were not done in real life.

White Powder:-

                   In that time also some people were addicted of drugs.In this movie one incident based on this .One person was addicted by drugs .And he supplied drugs.But when Police daubuted on him he mixed drugs with solt.

Conclusion :-

                      In this way The Modern Times movie reflects the age .The movie ends with scene of Dawn.Dawn symbolised as a hope or new beginning. Protagonist and Gamin going for the new beginning of their life.
