Existentialism

This blog is a part of my academic activity .To open Task click here ,

In these videos I liked following ideas:

1 : What is Existentialism ?

In this video three important key words are given to understand existentialism. Individuality, passions and freedom. It is a triangle of existentialism.

2 : The Myth of Sisypus(The Absurd Reasoning)

There is very interesting quote in this video. "An elegant suicide is an ultimate work of art." Albert Camus does not only believed suicide an art, but he said it an ultimate art. He believes that suicide is philosophical problem and so who commit suicide they would have thought deeply about life. For Camus this philosophy is very important and maybe that's why he believed suicide an art.

3 : The Myth ofSisypus (The Notion of Philosophical suicide)

In this video Camus says that seeking what is true is not seeking what is desirable. The idea is same as truth is always bitter. Seeking truth is not desirable. Instead truth leads towards despair. And in opposite of we seek for desirable things, it does not lead towards truth.

4 :Dadaism,Nihilism and Existentialism.

In this video I came to know about two important characteristics of Dadaism. First is Dadaism is quest for change and second is creation is one of primary goal of Dadaism. Dadaism, Nihilism and existentialism, all are different from each other.

 5 :Existentialism : A Gloomy philosophy

Existentialism is gloomy philosophy because it became famous after world war 2. Anxiety and despair was everywhere and Anxiety, absurdity and despair were the arena of arguments.

 7 : Let's Introduce Existentialism again !

Sartre did not believe humans were designed. This is clear rejection of biblical origin of humans. Humans are not made by anyone and there is no need to follow scriptures. Humans can have their own moralities and can act like they want. Existentialism is about freedom of thinking in own way.

8 : Explain Like I am five :Existentialism and Nietzsche

Existentialism stands for own purpose. One can do whatever he or she want. And there is no need to believe in what other have said. One boy says I don't like Nietzsche. And that is existentialism. Individually one can think in its own way.

9 : Why I like Existentialism?  Eric Dodson.

There is given one simple meaning of existentialism in this video. Existentialism offers how I think about things. Existentialism is about individuality. As in video one also said about one of the factor, individuality. It is about how I see the things, there is no force of other's thoughts.

10 :Let's sum up: Essesncialism to Existentialism

"The world was not created for a reason and it doesn't exist for a reason. If there is no reason for any of this, then there also no absolutes to abide by. There is no cosmic justice, no greatness, no order, no rules " Again the idea rejects the presence of God. There is no God, no moralities and immoralities, no hell or heaven, no punishment for bad deeds or award for good deeds. There is nothing who controls world, but the just exist itself. People from ages believe that who do bad deeds, they suffer. But in real world good always suffers and bad enjoys. So this idea leads towards reality of life.

● Which video you like the most and why ?

I like first video. Because it has given three key words, individuality, passions and freedom. The philosophy of existentialism stands on these words. It is like base of the house. So by understanding these words we can understand philosophy of existentialism.

● How would you describe 'learnig outcome' about this activity
Flipped learning always helps to understand any topics.First, listening videos, then write down notes and then think and write for comments, this repeating clears the topic. In class it is only hearing. This video helped me to increase my listening skills.
